Scoundrel, Rogue, Cad, Charmer, Swindler, Thief.

These are the words typically used to describe Xivitan Andrix, a Grigacian and former Time Agent turned criminal.  How he came to this life after being a respectable member of the Time Agency is still a whirlwind of jumbled thoughts and faded memories.  But Xiv would not have it any other way.

“Give me the clothes on my back, a handful of credits from the pockets of that gent over there and a ship to steal away on, and life is alright by me.”

The daughter of Corporal Beverly Powell (UNIT Historian from The Stalker of Norfolk webcomic), Lucy grew up hearing stories about The Doctor from her mother and friends.  Hearing the story of how her mother actually travelled back in time and met Robert Dudley fascinated her at a young age.  That adventure and other stories of this strange and amazing man fill her young mind like fairy tales of old.

So, taking a break from my attempt to write the summaries for the last two D&D sessions we’ve had (I’m actually stuck at the beginning, gonna try to get some details from my players later), I’ve decided to put together and post my pre-gens for a possible upcoming Doctor Who: Adventures in Time and Space adventure I’ll be running Christmas night.

I’ve recently been bitten by the Who bug again and have had quite the urge to try the system out once more.  Fortunately, with the airing of the Dr Who Xmas episode on BBC America christmas night, a friend of mine is planning a small shindig to eat, drink and watch the episode.  He mentioned we could also play the RPG afterwards which got my mind racing and my inner Who geek squealing with delight.

However, knowing how long it can take my players to make characters they enjoy playing, I’ve decided to get the jump on them and provide them with some hopefully decent pre-gen characters they can use.  This will also help me tailor the adventure to them without having to either wait another week or try to wing it from scratch.  I’d prefer a few more sessions of this game under my belt before making that attempt.

So, to share in my Who fandom and my love for Cubicle 7’s RPG, I’ve decided to share the four pregens I’ll have available (Don’t think we’ll have more than that playing).  I’ll be making separate posts for each providing what background pops into my head as well as their game stats for anyone else to take and use as they see fit in their own Dr Who campaigns.

So, without further ado, I present to you the cast of my one-shot Dr Who episode (title pending).

Last night I showed the first draft to a friend to has a thing for number crunching and he pointed out a few important things I overlooked in designing this series of feats.  Also, after making some changes he pointed out, I noticed a few other issues with what I initially designed. (more…)

This seems to be making it’s way around the network, but I too, thought I’d share this here for those who don’t visit the RPG Blogger Network (You should though.  Geat stuff to be found there).  A two year project now completed, this room is an amazing build.  I only wish I could have a room like that some day.

You can see more at their forum post here.  Amazing work guys!

Back in the days of AD&D, I found myself browsing the internet in search of any information I could find to enhance my gaming experience.  One of the most common things I came by was what were refered to as Netbooks; collections of information made by fans for fans.  Everything ranging from new monsters, rules for the more mature players, and even a great netbook of equipment (My personal favorite) could be found.

But, as 3e began to loom over the horizon, I’d noticed Netbooks beginning to trail off hand in hand with 2e.  Perhaps I was just not as observant and missed a pluthera of 3e netbooks.  Perhaps netbooks went into hiding for a while.  Either way, they’re beginning to emerge once more with the emergence of 4th edition.  And what better way to celebrate their return than with a monster of a netbook!

While going about my daily browsing of the RPG Network, I came by Greywulf’s blog and an entry titled Is this the ultimate 4e D&D Netbook? I think so.  Curiosity beat me over the head and dragged me over to see just what this ultimate netbook was.  Now, as I type, I’ve not actually cracked the file open (Which can be found here for those interested).  But based on Greywulf’s description of it’s contents, it’s sounds like his title is true to form.

So go check out Greywulf’s blog entry and give the netbook a go.  Perhaps this is the dawn of the netbook’s return.

Or just a one off.  Either way, good work guys!

Also, a big thanks to Olik for all those years of hosting some of the greatest netbooks in 2e history.  Still use the Great Netbook of Equipment to this day.

dnd-movieposterWhile browsing the RPG Blogger Network today, I came across a post by The Escapist informing us of a possible new D&D movie in the works.  While the first movie was a horrible mess, I enjoyed their second attempt, Wrath of the Dragon God.  It felt like the people who made WotDG knew a bit more about D&D than those who just wanted to make a movie with the D&D name on it.  In fact, if you watch the extras on the DVD, you see scenes with the actors reading the 3.5 PHB.  Of course, this could have just been staged for the extras, but it’s a nice thought.
