….Or just a lack of enthusiasm?
Recently, plans were made for me to resume the mantle of Saturday Evening Screen Monkey during my summer break from school. This past weekend my weekend group decided to go with a game of Mutants and Masterminds, resuming a small campaign we did some time ago. However, over the past few days, I’ve been ahving difficulty figuring out what to do for a superhero game. I always seem to get the urge to run it, but never the creative spark to build it.
Let’s now throw on top of that a healthy desire to run another 4e game since I just recently picked up several inspiring products (Monster Manual 2, the latest double-issue KODT, a couple of boosters of the new D&D miniatures set, AND a subscription to DDI before it goes up in cost). Top that off with starting the second novel in Richard Baker’s Blades of the Moonsea series and my body starts reaching for the 4e Realms books.
Now I know I’ve had a slight aversion to the newest Realms. There are changes that I just saw no reason for and several of my players would probably rather powder their favorite die than play in them. But part of me just wants to try. And that means making yet another new character for a small campaign. Which bugs several players to no end.
So on one hand, I could slake my desire for D&D running a new summer campaign in a setting some folks would rather not deal with, making yet another character, but would satisfy my curiosity.
Or I can try to churn out something for an M&M game that I just cannot seem to wrap my noodle around.
